Yesterday we ran our first day of workshops and it was absolutely brilliant ❤️ This is a photo from our Tandem Carrying workshop, did you know that it’s not just for twins? But also for siblings? This lovely lady has lots of experience with baby carriers, but wanted to try some different solutions to carrying her 5month old and 2 year old. We have weighted demo dolls in lots of different ages, so she was able to see how the carriers worked and the weight was distributed across her body. After lots of carriers came out to play, some very difficult choices were made between an onbuhimo, a @sleepy_nico baby carrier and a ring sling, but the ring sling won this time! Hi guys, Our mission is to support families, however they come to us, and part of that is also supporting when things aren’t going well, but society doesn’t allow you the space to just be about it. Miscarriages, infertility, birth trauma, these are HUGE life events, that just aren’t spoken about enough. We are having internal talks about how we can best offer support to people who are going through any of these issues, We are thinking of starting some Grief Cafe’s from October in Shrewsbury, and if the model works then we would look at whether we can offer this in our other locations also. This would consist of a set, regular time in a social environment, where all members of the family affected (yes, men would be welcome) are able to talk about whatever they want, whether it’s what you’ve been through, or the weather. With no pressure to conform to how anyone else expects them to be, and license to talk about your lived experience. A doula or cuddle collective representative would be present to help guide and enable conversation, and help support where needed and appropriate. We would love to hear from you. If you have been through something and could have done with more support, what would that have looked like? Would this have helped you? How often should we offer a grief cafe? Once a week? a fortnight? And also how would you about having miscarriages, infertility and birth trauma supported together in one group?
